Doug Kitani Chief Executive Officer and Director
Doug Kitani joined Erickson as Chief Executive Officer and Director, having served as Chief Executive Officer and Director of IAP Worldwide Services, a global defense services company specializing in logistics, expeditionary infrastructure, facilities engineering and power systems. His prior experience includes leading portfolio strategies and corporate development for DynCorp International. Mr. Kitani is known for his expertise in mergers and acquisitions and quality improvement, having spent many years working in the private equity investment field. Mr. Kitani earned his MBA in Finance and Strategy from Emory University and graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He served as a U.S. Army helicopter pilot (qualified in the UH-1, OH-58, and UH-60 while completing 11 years of active and reserve duty), is a member of the AOPA and is a supporter of the Green Beret Foundation.
Andrew Mills President, Commercial Aviation
Mr. Mills rejoined Erickson in 2012, and prior to his current position was General Manager of Aircrane Operations and Director of Aerial Services Sales and Marketing. Mr. Mills has over 25 years of experience in helicopter operations and contracting. Prior to joining Erickson, he served as General Manager of Carson Helicopters, and Director of Operations for Swanson Group Aviation. Before working exclusively in the heavy helicopter arena, he served as Vice President of Operations for Phoenix Geophysics, a world leader in exploration geophysics specializing in frontier exploration utilizing helicopter-supported geophysical tools. He has extensive experience in aerial firefighting and international helicopter contracting and has worked in more than 20 countries.
Mr. Mills graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, with post graduate work in geophysics. He is a past Chairman of the Oregon Heavylift Helicopter Consortium, and current Vice Chairman of the HAI Government Resources/Firefighting Committee.
Melissa Berube Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Melissa Berube joined Erickson in October of 2013. Her background includes significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, public and private offerings of debt and equity, and extensive contract negotiation experience. Her responsibilities at Erickson include contract negotiation and management, corporate governance and compliance, and litigation management.
Ms. Berube is a graduate of the University of Portland and earned her law degree at the University of Washington in Seattle. She is a member of the Oregon Hispanic Bar Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association, Team Red Lizard, a local running club, and a volunteer gala committee member of Incight, a local non-profit group dedicated to promoting higher education and career opportunities for persons with disabilities.
Kevin Cochie Vice President and General Manager of Defense and National Security
Mr. Cochie joins Erickson having served more than two decades in public and private sector roles in the defense industry. His expertise includes defense acquisition, systems engineering and government affairs. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Washington Operations and Special Programs for Nammo, a global leader of advanced ammunition and energetics products. Previously, he served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army, serving as a helicopter pilot and a procurement and acquisition officer. He holds a B.S. in Design Engineering and a M.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Central Florida and an EMBA from Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business and serves on the board of the Army Aviation Association of American (AAAA).
Rob Lewis Vice President / General Manager, Commercial Business, Aerial Operations
Mr. Lewis joined Erickson in February 2016 as Vice President and General Manager of Commercial Services. In this role, he leads and manages sales and operations for the business unit. His background includes significant experience in growing revenue, launching new aircraft development platforms, and establishing new markets.
Most recently, he was Vice President & General Manager, Business Aviation and Helicopter Training divisions at CAE, Inc., where he Led the Business Aviation Training and Helicopter Training divisions with P&L responsibility of $270M revenue, 800+ employees at 17 locations around the world. His previous work includes executive positions with Pentastar Aviation, and Sentient Flight Group.
Mr. Lewis is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and has served as a Nuclear Submarine Officer. He is also a graduate of Columbia University with a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
Hayden Olson VP Human Capital and Safety
Hayden Olson serves as Vice President of Safety and Human Capital and returns to Erickson after having created Olson Advisory, a consultancy to help optimize the potential of business clients. Hayden had previously served as Erickson’s Director of Finance Business Operations, as well as the Interim VP and General Manager, for the Government Aviation Business Unit. He brings a wealth of aviation leadership experience to the Erickson team having previously served in management roles with DynCorp’s Department of State INL Air Wing program as well as for RSM McGladrey, Inc. a risk advisory service. He earned his undergraduate degree at University of Central Florida and his MBA from Rollins College, with a concentration in Management and Entrepreneurship.
Stephen D. Wideman Vice President / Chief Financial Officer
As Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Wideman oversees the preparation and approval of all financial reports, the management of cash flow and forecasting, as well as all financial accounting. His background includes wide-ranging experiences in Corporate Financial Management, Financial Planning & Analysis, Investor Relations, Corporate Treasury, Financial Risk Management and Fixed-Income asset management for companies in the consumer products, apparel/footwear, software and government contracting industry groups.
Most recently, he served as Vice President of Finance and Corporate Treasurer for FLIR Systems in Wilsonville, Oregon, which designs, develops and manufactures thermal imaging and sensing devices for government and commercial enterprises. He holds a B.S. in Finance & Economics from Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, AL as well as an MBA from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.
Chris Schuldt Chief of Staff & Senior Director, Defense and National Security Special Projects
Mr. Schuldt joined Erickson in May 2013 and has served as Erickson’s Senior Director of Commercial Sales, Senior Director of Business Development for Europe/Africa/Middle East, and Interim General Manager for the Government Services Business Unit. Previously, he worked at Evergreen Helicopters across many business units to his last final position as President of Evergreen Helicopters, Inc., which Erickson acquired in 2013; Mr. Schuldt was instrumental in the integration of the two companies. In his Evergreen role he worked in Dubai supporting the company’s presence in Afghanistan and Africa.
Mr. Schuldt earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business at Linfield College.
